Hello friends,
Welcome to another post from The 3Min Club.
I’m sorry I missed a post last week. Got caught up with the Summer Olympics, getting my back in better shape with improved overall energy.
I turned 37 last Tuesday. 😄 I am getting more youthful as the days go by, heh!
As Singapore returns to a semi-lockdown past 6 weeks, there weren’t any big gatherings for the day, except blowing candles with my two adorable nieces. What would we do without our family, unless if they are toxic and abusive, of course?
For those of you who have lost your loved ones this past 18 months, my heart goes out to you. Also to those on the front lines fighting this pandemic.
I am taking the rest of the week and month to relook into my life’s goals, recalibrate and restrategize my creative projects. I have been dabbling some poetry and short-form writing with indie publications, The Brain Is A Noodle and Know Thyself, Heal Thyself. Have a read and be inspired if you like a creative hiatus.
Get challenged today, try something creative and different.
Get moving and enjoy today’s 3M in 3 minutes.
Yours,
Yan
For each M, set a timer for 1 minute each.
1: Movement - Thread the Needle in World’s Greatest Stretch stance
This is such a powerful and great movement to do throughout the day, especially if you’ve been sitting down so much. It is pretty much a great dynamic exercise to mobilize all the muscles and the connecting fascia of your front and back lines.
Challenge yourself: If you feel up for a full 20 min mobility routine, I have recorded a video which you can follow along, or jump straight to 2:59 for this exercise only. The idea is to move now, even if it’s for one minute.
2: Mantra - “I Listen And Appreciate The Truth That’s Coming My Way”
Start a timer for 1-minute. Repeat the above statement, either silently in your head or out loud.
Do this with slow and deep breaths or whatever feels comfortable for you. Repeat until 1 minute is up.
3: Mindfulness - 👃🏻👃🏽👃🏿 Nose, what do you Smell?
(The last of our 5 senses mini-series)
Let’s bring today’s mindfulness practice outside today if you can.
Choose a location that you feel comfortable and safe. You may walk around if you like.
For the next one minute, bring your focus and awareness to your nose.
It is important to PUT YOUR MOBILE PHONE ON SILENT AND WITH NO VIBRATION. You can survive for a minute without it. :P
As you are walking around, what scent do you smell?
Is it pleasant, pungent, or something unfamiliar?
When one minute is up, pause what you are doing.
Give thanks for your healthy nose and lungs today.
Reflect on how are you using your gift of smell — or even the ability to breathe fresh clean air.
Our noses are a bridge between the inside and outside of our bodies.

Do you remember what that feeling is like?

If we want to be energetic, we’ll do the best we can to become energetic.
Heck, we’ll borrow cosmic energy and dance if that’s what it takes!”
