'Tis The Season Of Games and Contests

Hello friends,
Welcome to another post from The 3Min Club.
In the spirit of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, I have a “sport” that all of us can compete in.
A TYPING CONTEST!
I recently found this and decided to put my fingers to the test, seeing that I am a writer and most of us are working from home. This might be one underrated sport that deserves more medals.
I have an open challenge for you that takes zero dollars.
Go to typing.com and register an account.
There are three levels. You can practice a few lessons or go straight to the assessment for each lesson. The assessment takes about 2 minutes.
Like all sports, be sure to do a proper warm-up of wrists and fingers too.
[Watch and do these wrists and fingers warm-ups with me.]I will go first with my first test result at Beginner Level.
Now let the Games begin. Tell me in the comments box, what’s your score? This is going to be fun.
I hope today’s 3M in 3 minutes will get you moving.
Yours, Yan
P.S. I have added visuals for the 3Min posts to aid you in picking up the habit to move mindfully. Let me know if this is helpful. 😄
For each M, set a timer for 1 minute each.
1: Movement - Single Leg Bend-and-Straighten
Start your timer for 1-minute and do the following.
Lie on a mat, with both legs straighten.
Bring one knee to your chest, hands behind the knees.
The other leg remains straightened. If this is difficult, you can bend your knee on this other leg.Inhale to begin, exhale and straighten the leg towards the sky. Repeat for 5 counts.
Change to the other leg and repeat for 5 counts.
Repeat the entire process until 1 minute is up.
2: Mantra - “My Feet Are Deeply Grounded To Earth.””
Start a timer for 1-minute. Repeat the above statement, “My Feet Are Deeply Grounded To Earth.” either silently in your head or out loud.
Do this with slow and deep breaths or whatever feels comfortable for you. Repeat until 1 minute is up.
3: Mindfulness - 🦶🏻🦶🏽🦶🏿 Skin, what do you feel?
(Working with our 5 senses mini-series)
Let’s bring today’s mindfulness practice outside today if you can.
Choose a location that you feel comfortable and safe, free of nails, glass pieces, and pests. It can be a cemented pavement, grass, peat, or water.
Our focus for the next 1 minute is simply to walk barefoot, feeling the soles of your feet. With each step, you intentionally create peace with yourself and with Earth.
It is important to PUT YOUR MOBILE PHONE ON SILENT AND WITH NO VIBRATION. You can survive for a minute without it. :P
As you walk barefoot, what are your feet touching?
If you like, you can even touch the ground, grass, peat, or water with your bare hands too. What is the skin on your hands feeling?
When 1 minute is up, pause what you are doing.
Give thanks for your healthy skin today.
Reflect on how are you using your gift of touch — It has been quite a year and a half where we have been starved for human hugs and touch.
Our touch can either break or heal.
